ADA assembly guide

The defining feature of the ADA lies in its innovative mounting system: the Slide-In Gasket-Mount. This hotswappable design is not only unique but also sets the ADA apart with its simplicity and functionality.

While the system is straightforward, there are a few key details to ensure that hotswapping your keyboard components is both easy and enjoyable.

But first, let’s start from the beginning:

1.

Remove the security foam piece between the ADA case and stand.

2.

Take out the case and the stand one after another.

3.

It’s easy to overlook the magnetic artisan badge puller, so be sure to remove it and store it in a safe place where you can easily find it later.
The magnetic puller makes it effortless to remove the artisan badge, which can be swapped out with separately available artisan badges.

4.

Using your fingers, press the plate down at the green-marked areas and slide it back, away from you.
The entire plate-PCB combo should be slid back as shown above.

5.

Lift the bottom edge of the plate-PCB combo and pull it out.

6.

The plate and PCB are secured with 8 silicone pins. Slide each pin in the direction indicated by the triangle icon to remove them. Be sure to store the standoff pins safely to avoid losing them.

7.

Attach your stabilizers to the PCB, then reconnect the PCB to the plate using the silicone standoff pins. Once secured, install your switches to complete the assembly.

Ensure the standoff pins are securely locked by sliding them away from the triangle icon.

8.

Now, slide your plate/PCB/switches assembly back into the case. Press down on the first row of switches as you do this to ensure the back wings of the plate don’t make contact with the case. Push it back firmly until it stops.

9.

Press down on the switch assembly at the green-marked spots, then slide it toward you. This ensures the bottom gaskets of the plate are properly seated deep into the case.

10.

Turn your ADA case upside down and secure the entire assembly by snapping the magnetic L-Stand into place. Carefully align the L-Stand with the magnets before attaching it to avoid any scratches on the case.

11.

Attach your keyset and get ready to play.

Speaking of playing, don’t forget to visit www.playserious.app, our proprietary software to customize your ADA to perfection.

Enjoy!

One more thing.

You can easily slide out your plate/PCB/switch/keycap assembly by removing the keycaps from the first row. Then, simply slide it back and pull it out—et voilà!
